As from this month, we in Blitz have already started interviewing various individuals – including politicians, scholars, analysts, journalists, rights activists and people of various walks of life in the Russian Federation and neighboring republics, we have interviewed Mr. Karyakin Alexey Vyacheslavovich, Chairman, Public Chamber of the Lugansk People’s Republic. During the interview, Karyakin Alexey Vyacheslavovich said, “Kiev regime will last only as long as it is artificially supported from the outside”, adding “Ukrainians themselves will destroy Zelensky as soon as they have the opportunity”.
This is the first-ever interview of any official of the Lugansk People’s Republic accorded to a Bangladeshi newspaper. Here is the excerpt of the exclusive interview:
Question: According to media reports, Bilogorivka in the Lugansk People’s Republic has been liberated from the captivity of Ukrainian neo-Nazi forces, which was confirmed by the Russian Defense Ministry stating, “As a result of active combat operations, units of the Southern grouping of troops completely liberated the settlement of Bilogorivka”.
Ukrainian neo-Nazis and soldiers of Kiev are being forced to flee from the Lugansk People’s Republic. On June 27, 2024, during debate, former US President Donald Trump clearly said, Ukraine is losing the war and running short of soldiers. Under this scenario, in your opinion, why Joe Biden and his NATO allies are still emphasizing on sending billions of dollars to Kiev?
Karyakin Alexey Vyacheslavovich: America has relied on Ukraine as a tool to contain Russia. Today their method shows inconsistency. For Biden and Co., retreat means admitting defeat, so they go to the end. They spend this money not from their own pockets, but at the expense of American taxpayers. At the same time, NATO’s main goal is the destruction of Russia. And while Ukraine is not fully implemented in this direction, its overseas comrades will support it.
Question: Can you please elaborately tell our readers, how Kiev’s neo-Nazi forces have committed serious crimes in the Lugansk People’s Republic and how you have been fighting very bravely against those elements?
Karyakin Alexey Vyacheslavovich: Unfortunately, it is not enough to list all the crimes committed by the Ukronazis [Ukrainian Nazis] in your newspaper. It is worth highlighting that on June 2, 2014, Ukrainian plane carried out an airstrike on the city center, where eight civilians were killed and more than twenty were injured. Exactly a month later, on July 2, the same aircraft near Lugansk in the village of Kondrashevka destroyed an entire street of the village. It is also worth talking about the punitive operations carried out by the Kyiv regime in the occupied territories of the Lugansk People’s Republic. After the liberation of these territories in 2022, we find confirmation of this, namely: during the exhumation of the bodies of the civilian population, there are characteristic traces of executions of people with their hands tied in spontaneous burials (we are talking about more than one place). In 2022, many defenders of the republic were able to go to their home and meet with their relatives. Today they continue to guard peace in the LPR.

Question: In your opinion, how long Kiev’s neo-Nazi regime can sustain against mighty Russian forces, and how soon you see the fall of Zelensky?
Karyakin Alexey Vyacheslavovich: The Kiev regime will last only as long as it is artificially supported from the outside. Zelensky, as a political figure, did not succeed, which is precisely why he usurped power. At the moment, Ukraine is exhausted, both economically and in human resources. I am sure that the Ukrainians themselves will destroy Zelensky as soon as they have the opportunity. I repeat, Zelensky is in power only thanks to external support.
Question: We know, the Lugansk People’s Republic is rich in minerals, primarily coal (the Donets Coalfield) and has considerable reserves of rock salt. It also has deposits of dolomites, limestone, clay and mercury, as well as iron and aluminum ore, meaning, it has potentials of establishing relations in various fields with nations in the Global South and the world. As Chairman of the Public Chamber, what initiatives you are planning to undertake for achieving this goal?
Karyakin Alexey Vyacheslavovich: Yes, you are absolutely right. Donbass is rich in minerals and industrial facilities. After we returned to Russia, we had a large market for our products. The Public Chamber of the LPR will enter into agreements with their colleagues in all constituent entities of the Russian Federation, which promotes interaction not only between social activists, but also industrialists. Because interaction is built horizontally. At the same time, it is worth noting the positive aspects of holding various forums in which all interested parties participate.
Question: The Lugansk People’s Republic has a developed agricultural sector. Crop production focuses on farming wheat, barley, maize, sunflowers, vegetables and fruit. Livestock breeding is primarily based on the production of poultry meat. There is a tremendous demand for edible oil in Bangladesh is above 3 million tons every year, while Iran and other countries in the Middle East have huge demand for poultry meat and dairy items. These are the fields where the Lugansk can build mutually beneficial cooperation. Are you considering these prospects and what initiatives you think are essential for connecting business communities between the DPR and nations in the Global South?
Karyakin Alexey Vyacheslavovich: Just the other day, the exhibition-forum “Russia” ended, where the LPR was also represented. And it aroused keen interest among visitors. Today in Irkutsk there is a forum of industrialists “Innoprom”, at which meetings are already taking place in an international format. The republic is open to proposals, and the potential allows us to realize the requests that have arisen. It is worth noting that, as part of Ukraine, the Lugansk region had international contracts and implemented them, including with Europe.
Unfortunately, since 2014 these ties have been severed for obvious reasons. As I said earlier, the potential remains. And we are ready to return to the indicators that were before 2014. And I’m sure that and multiply.
As part of the Russian Federation, the republic has great opportunities. And we are grateful to Russia for this, since operating enterprises mean a decent life for people locally.
