Write For Us

With a large number of unique readers and millions of page views yearly,
BLiTZ has experienced unprecedented success, even in these days of online
censorship. If you support ideals of freedom of expression and press, BLiTZ
would be pleased to consider your submission for publication as an Opinion
or Views. We seek original ideas and analyses on topics of international
politics and world affairs, particularly from a realist perspective or
addressing realist concerns.

Our submission process requires a short biography and basic contact
information. Please note that spelling and grammar will also be evaluated as
part of the article selection process.

Facts that would not normally be considered common knowledge should
include a source link so that editors — and readers — can verify dates,
statistics and other information independently. Include links, such as a link
to your social media sites, in your bio, so that editors and readers can
connect with you there.

Your submission should be between 600 and 2,000 words. If you include any
media, such as pictures or video, you must have the legal right to use them
and should explain those rights at the bottom of the submission.

We are an anti-militancy publication that confronts religious extremism,
culture of religious hatred and propaganda aimed at nations in the Global
South, but there is plenty of room for difference of opinion among those
groups, so we do not necessarily have to agree with your opinion to publish
it; we do, however, in most cases have to agree that a good number of our
readers would at least be interested in the perspective presented.

Write about something timely and relevant, and be sure to spend a suitable
amount of time researching your subject matter and getting the details
right. Opinion readers want your take on current political and social events,
not your philosophical musings that are not tied to what they see happening
in the world around them. Such musings are fine, but you must make the
connection for the reader between your ideas and the news cycle — do not
make them do that work for you.

Generally speaking, most pieces we choose to publish are strongly political
in content, although commentary about cultural and other issues will also be
considered. Most importantly, write with your own voice and be original. An Opinion
piece stating that you agree or disagree with a given politician or policy will
hold little interest for readers unless you explain why — and offer something
new for them to think about that has not occurred to them before. Give
readers a logical, winsome argument to help them defend their ideals or
refute their thinking, and you are likely to build a following on BLiTZ’s
opinion page.If the piece has already been published elsewhere, that should be noted in
your submission, along with a link to the original publication. BLiTZ is less
likely to publish opinion pieces that have appeared elsewhere (except on a
personal website or blog), though it’s not an automatic disqualifier.

If your piece meets our submission guidelines and represents BLiTZ’s core
editorial values of truth and accuracy — or at least arguably does so — we
are much more likely to publish it.

Because of the very large volume of submissions we receive, we will contact
you only if we feel able to accept your piece. If you do not hear from us
within three business days, please feel free to submit your article to other
publications.

Please note, BLiTZ does not offer compensation or the published article,
unless the writers are assigned by this newspaper with specific topic or
topics.

Please submit your piece by embedding it on email body and send to
[email protected]. Please put “Submission” in the subject line. Also
include a short two to three-sentence biography at the end of your work.
