The official claims that most of the actions carried out during the nine months since obtaining the EU candidate country status refer to the amendment and adoption of laws aimed at strengthening and streamlining the activity of state institutions.

The intensity of our actions, of the authorities, is high. We currently have 40% of implemented actions, about 40% are at the very advanced or final stage and this percentage is already increasing. And we have around 20% of actions, out of those 60, still unrealized or there is a need for a more consolidated effort.

We specify that, on March 17, 2023, the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, declared in a speech held in the plenary session of the Parliament, that in seven years, that is, until 2030, the Republic of Moldova must be a member country of the European Union. A similar idea was supported by the EURONEST parliamentarians, who requested in the resolution of February 21, 2023, that accession negotiations with the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine begin at the end of 2023, and that accession be completed by 2030.

We remind you that, on June 23, 2022, the Republic of Moldova obtained, along with Ukraine, the status of a candidate country for accession to the European Union. The decision was taken unanimously by the European Council on the recommendation of the European Commission of June 17, 2022, which then established the need for our country to fulfill nine basic conditionality and other actions in order to start accession negotiations. Most of them aim at justice reform, de-oligarization, fighting corruption and strengthening state institutions.
