The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested BRS leader K.K. A fresh summon has been issued to Kavita for her appearance on March 20.

Citing the pendency of the petition in the Supreme Court, she did not appear before the agency on the notice issued for Thursday. In a petition pending in the court, he has sought protection from arrest challenging the summons issued by the ED.

Agency sources said Telangana Legislative Council member and state Chief Minister K.K. The six-page representation submitted by Kavitha, daughter of Chandrasekhar Rao, has been rejected considering that the ongoing investigation in the matter is at a crucial stage.

They have been asked to appear before him on March 20, officials said. Kavita sent her authorized representative (an office bearer of BRS) on Thursday, who provided a six-page report of her transactions, bank statements, personal and business details to the investigating officer of the case.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday agreed to hear on March 24 Kavita’s plea challenging the ED summons in the case and seeking protection from arrest.

Kavita (44) was first questioned in this case on March 11, after which she was asked to appear again on March 16.

In the letter sent to the ED, Kavita said that since the summons did not say that she needed to appear in person, she was sending her “authorised representative”.

She wrote, “I humbly request you that as the proceedings are pending before the Supreme Court, its instructions may be awaited before taking any action regarding the summons.”
