MMMUT’s B.Tech admission forgery case exposed, university clerk turned out to be the mastermind

Gorakhpur : In Gorakhpur’s Madan Mohan Malviya University of Technology, 40 students were admitted to B.Tech course with the help of fake documents. After this matter came to the fore, it has been revealed in the government-level investigation that Ravi Mohan Srivastava, the clerk of the Dean’s office, had conspired to get admission of the students through fake means. Four clerks including Ashwani Tripathi and an outsourcing employee are also involved in this act, as well as the role of three teachers has also been found suspicious.

This has been revealed in the meeting of the Management Board on Thursday and it has come from the exploits of all these people. Although the university administration has not officially announced anyone’s name. The forgery of admission in the course took place in the session 2020-21 and 2021-22. The 3 teachers whose role has been found suspicious in the government level investigation include two immediate deans (Academic Affairs) Professor DK Trivedi and Professor SK Soni and one Associate Dean Professor PP Pandey. The inquiry committee believes that these teachers were not directly involved in this.

The inquiry committee believes that by taking advantage of their negligence towards the work, the clerks got admission of the students with the help of fake documents. The Management Committee has decided to give one more chance to all the culprits to prove their innocence regarding this episode. According to the decision taken by the board, now the university administration has nominated members of the inquiry committee, in which former Vice-Chancellor of Awadh University, Prof. Ram Achal Singh, Acharya of Motilal Nehru Institute of Technology, Prof. Rajeev Tripathi and former president of the Chamber of Industry, Engineer AK Agarwal.

The inquiry committee constituted by the university administration will evaluate the evidence that the convicts will give to the registrar to prove their innocence. The report given by the Inquiry Committee will be placed before the Board of Management, after which a decision will be taken regarding further action. The government-level inquiry committee had submitted its report to the university a fortnight ago regarding the forgery in B.Tech admission in MMUT. Vishwa Vishwavidyalaya had placed this before the Board of Management twice and legal opinion was also taken regarding the action.

At present, Madan Mohan Malviya University of Technology administration is shying away from announcing the names of the culprits of the forgery. In the name of revealing the names of the culprits, the same answer was always received that the reports are still confidential. Along with the decision of the proceedings, the names of the culprits will be announced. Let us inform that the admission of 40 students of the session 2020-21 and 2021-22, who took admission in Madan Mohan Malviya University of Technology with the help of fake documents, was canceled by the university administration in January this year.

After the cancellation of admission, 34 students took the support of the High Court and appealed there. That case is still pending in the court. It is expected that the university administration will also place before the High Court the names of the teachers and employees declared guilty in the meeting of the Board of Management and the decision taken by the board regarding the action taken on them.
