Jharkhand News: Not a single sand ghat is valid in Bokaro district. Even after this, sand is being picked up indiscriminately and stocking is also being done. This is the situation when the National Green Tribunal (NGT) has banned the lifting of sand. On the other hand, even if the ghats were legal, lifting of sand is not possible at present, because the process of auction of sand ghats is going on only on paper. Despite all this, illegal business worth lakhs of rupees is being done every day by defying the administration.

Illegal stock yard around Damodar river

Talking about the village Bhatua adjacent to Sector 11 of the city, the Damodar River (Damodar Nad) is at some distance from this village. The area around it has been illegally made a stock yard. Sand has been stocked illegally in about four kilometer area. Every day hundreds of tractors are lifting sand from the river. Lakhs of CFT sand has been stocked. People can see all this scene clearly, but the department and administration are not able to see.

no one wants to say anything

After seeing the stock on such a large scale, the question arises that when and how the stock was done. Who are the people involved in this game? On whose instigation all this is happening. When an attempt was made to inquire about this from the people around, no one was ready to say anything. Even the people passing by the stock were not considering it appropriate to stay. Not only in the morning and evening, the lifting of sand from Damodar is also taking place in the afternoon. But, neither the tractor driver is afraid nor the laborers engaged in the work of sand loading. It is also surprising that the work is being executed with great cleanliness. There is also a system for moving sand in the stock yard.

morning delivery

In the area of Bhatua village, work is done throughout the day near the stock yard. Dozens of tractors, JCB and other machinery do the work of sand lifting, collection and arrangement. But, the work of delivering sand to the customers is done in the morning. This is so that people do not get to know about it. Experts say that after coming directly in the eyes of the police, there is pressure to act. To avoid this the delivery is done in the morning.

understand math like this

If experts are to be believed, the illegal business of sand is going on in the district for many years. At present, due to the NGT ban, the arrival of sand has decreased, but there is no effect on the demand. Experts told that the maximum cost of sand lifting and stock from the river is Rs 500 per tractor, while the cost of delivery is Rs 800-1000. But sand is available in the market at Rs 3200-3500 per tractor. Means the businessmen are getting a saving of Rs 1700 to 2000 per tractor. In this way thousands of tractor sand is being delivered in a day.

Action will be taken against illegal miners: Inspector

In this regard, Inspector Jitendra Kumar of the DMO office says that the department is continuously taking action against illegal mining. Information has been received about depositing sand in Bhatua village. Action will be taken soon. Action will be taken against the people present on the spot and those involved after investigation.
