Jamshedpur: BJP leader Abhay Singh and many people got bail in the Shastrinagar riots case

Jamshedpur, Sanjeev Bhardwaj : The bail application of BJP leader Abhay Singh, arrested in connection with the disturbance that took place on the evening of April 10 in Shastri Nagar block number 2-3 under Kadma police station of Jamshedpur, has been approved by the High Court on Friday. Even after getting bail from the High Court, Abhay Singh’s release will not be possible. In the Jugsalai riot case, the police has registered a case against him and got the production done in the court. After getting the bail order from the High Court, the rest of the process will be completed in the Jamshedpur court. Party supporters celebrated as soon as they got the news of Abhay Singh getting bail.

Let us tell you that before this the petition could not be heard four times because its listing was far behind. Bail has also been granted to other accused including BJP leader Abhay Singh, who was arrested along with them. All the accused were sent to jail on April 11 (Tuesday) from Bishtupur police station. After the arrest of Abhay Singh, BJP, BJMO and other Hindu organizations strongly protested against the district administration.

Union Minister Arjun Munda, former Chief Minister Raghuvar Das, Babulal Marandi, MP Vidyut Varan Mahto, MP Deepak Prakash, MLA Saryu Rai, former MLA Arvind Singh, Maneka Sardar, Kunal Shadangi, Anant Ram Tudu, in Central Jail to meet Abhay Singh. Many leaders of the district including Ravindra Rai had gone to Ghaghidih Central Jail to meet him.

In Jamshedpur’s Kadma Shastrinagar block number two, on the evening of April 10, amid stone pelting and uproar between two communities, one of the youths opened fire. Due to this the situation worsened and in no time the entire Shastri Nagar got burnt. To pacify the matter, along with a large number of forces, RAF also had to be brought down. After that the matter calmed down. Many policemen were also injured in this nuisance. The situation had worsened so much that Section 144 had to be imposed in the affected area. Internet was also shut down. After the situation was controlled, it was removed by the order of SDO Dhalbhum.

In this case, the police had filed a case against 119 named and 1200 unknown people of both the parties in the Kadma police station. Those against whom the FIR was lodged included BJP leader Abhay Singh and Hinduist leaders. They were arrested and sent to jail. On the arrest of these people, Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Rai lodged an objection and termed the action as biased.
