Patna University: Regular four and vocational course will be of three years, also know credit and grading formula

Patna University (PU) has prepared a format for the four-year Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) enrollment for the new rules issued by the Raj Bhavan. The application process for admission will be started from May 20. Students can apply till June 5. This time admission in PU will be done on the basis of 12th marks. At the same time, PU is issuing applications for Vocation course from May 20. Students will have to apply separately for vocational and regular. Students who want to apply for both the courses will fill two forms online. Dean Students Welfare Dr. Anil Kumar told that the regular course will be of four years and the vocational course will be of three years. Students who have already applied will get a chance to edit the form. Students who have already applied in regular course will make changes in their application.

Vocational course will be of three years

The problem has increased due to no clear instructions being issued regarding vocational courses. PU will continue vocational course of three years only. The application process for this will start from 20. PU studies B.Com under regular and self finance. Since the syllabus of both is the same, a four-year degree course will be applicable in B.Com Self Finance. There will be a change in fees in B.Com Self Finance. Entrance test will be conducted for admission in vocational course. Merit list will be issued after the test. Admission will be done on the basis of this merit.

Attendance and behavior in CIA will get five marks

Odd and even semesters will be followed in the four year degree course. There will be odd (1, 3, 5, 7) semesters and even (2, 4, 6 and 8) semesters. Odd Semester will run from July to December and Even Semester will run from January to June. Along with this, there will be CIA before the semester exam. CIA will be of total 30 marks. In this, five marks will be given on attendance and behavior. Whereas, the seminar, assignment etc. will be of 10 marks and the mid-semester test will be of 15 marks. This will be applicable in theory and practical course. Students will have to complete the four-year degree in at least seven years. In special cases, the Academy Council can extend it by one more year.

Credit and Grading Formula as follows

O (Outstanding) Will get 10 grade (90 to 100 percent marks) point for

A (excellent) For this, nine grade (80 to 90 percent) points will be given.

A (Very Good) For this, eight grade (70 to 80 percent) points will be given.

B (good) For this, seven grade (60 to 70 percent) points will be given.

B (Above Average) For this, six grade (55 to 60 percent) points will be given.

C (Average) Five grade points (50 to 55 percent) will be given for

P (pass) For this, four grade (45 to 50 percent) points will be given.

F (Fail) Below 45 percent will not get any point.
