Doha Girls Center to organize ‘Cup of Tea’ event on May 21

To celebrate International Tea Day, falling on May 21, the Doha Girls Center, under the Ministry of Sports and Youth is organizing a ‘Cup Of Tea’ event Sunday at its headquarters from 4 to 7 pm.

The event is characterized by its creative touches, qualities, and innovative activities suitable for 18 to 39 years old girls.

A cybercrime workshop will available in cooperation with the Economic and Cyber Crimes Prevention Department. The workshop aims to research and investigate cybercrime in all its forms, what constitutes a violation of the Qatari Penal Code, and research and investigate credit card fraud and how to be safe. The workshop is also accompanied by a discussion and several competitions, in addition to flower arrangements under the supervision of the center’s supervisors for their entertainment.

Director of the Doha Girls Center Sheikha Hussain Babssail said that it is important to celebrate international days and highlight them with various activities to introduce them to society. Essentially, it is a golden opportunity to witness the girls’ talents and creativity.

International Tea Day is celebrated annually on May 21, according to the United Nations. The relevant resolution was adopted on Dec. 21, 2019, and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) was invited to lead the observance of this day.

The International Tea Day aims to raise awareness of the long history and profound cultural and economic importance of tea worldwide and promote and foster collective actions to implement activities in favor of the sustainable production and consumption of tea.
