Amazon Web Services to invest $12.7 billion in India by 2030

Mumbai/New Delhi, May 18 (Hindustan Times). Amazon Web Services (AWS) will invest $12.7 billion (Rs 1.05 lakh crore) by 2030 on cloud related infrastructure in India. The company is making this investment to meet the growing demand of customers in cloud services.

Amazon’s cloud computing unit said in a statement released on Thursday that it would invest $12.7 billion (Rs 1.05 lakh crore) by 2030. The investment in data center infrastructure is expected to create an average of 1,31,700 full-time jobs annually in the Indian business, the company said.

According to the statement, the jobs that will be created by this investment include construction, engineering, telecommunications and other jobs. AWS said it plans to invest Rs 1.05 lakh crore in cloud related infrastructure in India. With this, the total investment in India by 2030 is estimated to reach 1,36,500 ($16.4 billion).

It is noteworthy that Amazon Web Services is a subsidiary of Amazon, which provides cloud computing platform on demand to individuals, companies and governments. The company has invested $3.7 billion (Rs 30,900 crore) during 2016 to 2022.
