Jharkhand High Court’s Justice Rajesh Shankar’s court heard the petition filed for the early elections of the municipal body and Ranchi Municipal Corporation in the state. After hearing the side of the applicant during the hearing of the case, the court directed the state government and the Ranchi Municipal Corporation to file a reply within four weeks.

Along with this, the court accepted the petition challenging the order to abolish the rights of the elected representatives. The court has fixed the date of June 27 for the next hearing of the case. Earlier, on behalf of the applicant, advocate Vinod Singh told the court that the state government is responsible for not conducting the elections to the municipal bodies on time.

He urged the state government to give appropriate orders. It is worth mentioning that a petition has been filed on behalf of the applicant former councilor Roshni Khalkho and others. In the petition, a demand has been made to hold the elections to the municipal corporations and municipal bodies soon.
