In Jamshedpur, storm and water caused huge destruction on Monday. Due to the strong wind and rain that came in the afternoon, trees fell in different areas of the city causing heavy loss to life and property. Vehicles were damaged in many areas due to the fall of more than 200 trees. Road got jammed. Later, the situation normalized after the removal of the fallen trees. In many houses, the tins used for roofing were blown away in the wind. During this, there was a blackout in many areas due to the falling of electric poles.
48 pole-wires were broken in Jamshedpur circle. Even after breaking a hoarding near Mango 14 number Chepa bridge, electricity fell on the wire. Due to this, the power supply in the locality was stalled for hours. Electrical Superintendent Engineer of Jamshedpur Circle, Deepak Kumar said that due to the storm and rain, there has been a lot of damage to the electrical infrastructure. Apart from urban areas, electric poles and wires have been broken in rural areas as well. Repair work is going on at all the places. Power is being restored in the area one by one.
