Why even a single mosquito of dengue is fatal

Joint Director of Vector Borne Diseases (VBD) Dr. Vikas Singhal Dengue is a mosquito borne disease. Which is caused by dengue virus. Dengue is spread by the female species Aedes Aegypti mosquito. The specialty of this mosquito is that once infected with dengue virus, when it lays eggs, those eggs also get infected with dengue virus. The mosquitoes hatched from these eggs are also infected, which can spread the disease. Its eggs can survive for a year. Dry egg prepares new mosquitoes as soon as it gets water.

Timely treatment and vigilance necessary

Isha, a resident of Hind Nagar, who has recovered from dengue fever, says that she had high fever for two-three days in October last year. He himself did not take any medicine. First got the test done on the advice of the doctor. On confirmation of dengue, took regular medicines and consumed plenty of water and fluids like coconut water, fruit juice. I completely recovered in five to six days. I take full care that anywhere in the house, even if it is a money plant plant kept in the drawing room, water should not be allowed to collect in it, so that mosquitoes do not flourish.

Vriddhi Mishra, a resident of Jankipuram, told that he was very scared when he got dengue fever. But, I recovered within a week by taking regular liquid diet and medicines. Now every Sunday I sell all the junk in the house and on that day I get the house cleaned properly. I would appeal to everyone to stay away from mosquitoes, then this disease will not come near.

Protect yourself from dengue in this way

To prevent dengue, first prevent water logging around.

Cover all water tanks with properly closing lids, so that mosquitoes do not breed.

Change vases, plant pots, fridge trays, bird or collecting water every week.

Wear full sleeve clothes, use mosquito nets, anti-mosquito creams or coils while sleeping.

Get nets installed on the doors and windows of the house. Do not allow unnecessary water stagnation at home and around. Do not leave broken utensils, tires and vials open. Do not take any medicine on your own if you have fever.
