The issue of compensation for the acquired land of farmers for the construction of Expressway (NH-119D) under the Bharatmala Project from Amas to Jaynagar is continuously getting deeper. Regarding this, the protest of the farmers of Dhanrua block is going on continuously. On last Friday, the matter of protest of farmers in Piprawan of the block had not settled yet that on Monday the local administration had to face tremendous protest by the farmers in Manik Bigha of the block.
Farmers sat in front of JCB
Under the aegis of United Kisan Morcha, hundreds of farmers started shouting slogans sitting in front of JCB in Manik Bigha and Nonia Bigha, due to which the land leveling work could not be done. However, BDO Shailja Pandey tried to get the leveling done in the presence of a large number of police force deployed, but she could not succeed in that. During this the farmers also became furious.

Meanwhile, SDO Preeti Kumari, DCLR Amit Kumar Patel, Drafting CO Mrityunjay Kumar and Dhanrua Revenue Officer Madhumita reached the spot and tried hard to convince the farmers, but the farmers were not ready to accept. Eventually everyone went back.
Demanding commercial rate of acquired land
Umesh Sharma of United Kisan Morcha alleged that the government is taking farmers’ land for road construction. The government is giving compensation for the acquired land on the basis of agricultural land, while this land is commercial and residential. The farmers are demanding to be given four times the market value of the land according to the commercial rate as per the standard set by the government itself.

What to say of SDO
SDO Preeti Kumari told that the farmers are demanding compensation for the acquired land according to the commercial rate, while there is a provision to give the rate of their land for agricultural land only. For the time being it has stopped working. The settlement of the matter is possible only at the level of the Deputy Commissioner and talks will be held with him in this regard.
