Lucknow. With the completion of all the process of Urban Body General Election-2023, the code of conduct has been abolished in the state. The State Election Commission on Sunday announced the abolition of the code of conduct. The government and departments will now be able to start all those works which were stopped due to the imposition of the code of conduct. According to the information received by the Commission, elections were held for a total of 14684 posts (Chairman-760, Members-13924) in 75 districts. In this, 162 candidates have been elected unopposed, voting was held for 14522 posts. A total of 52.4 percent polling took place in the state.

Know the lowest and highest voting bodies in the state

If we talk about the maximum turnout, Saharanpur-55.8 percent for Municipal Corporation, 78.17 percent in Sarsawan (Saharanpur), Nagar Palika Parishad. For Nagar Panchayat, Guldiya (Badaun) recorded 89.52 percent voting. The lowest voter turnout was 31.5 percent in Prayagraj Municipal Corporation. In Nagar Palika Parishad, Rampur – 38 percent and in Nagar Panchayat, Anpara (Sonbhadra) – 40 percent remained at the bottom due to voting.

More than 5 lakh officers and employees served in the elections

Two lakh 52 thousand 851 polling personnel, sector magistrates, zonal magistrates, in-charge officers, assistant in-charge officers, election officers, assistant election officers and counting personnel were deployed under the supervision of 94 observers to conduct municipal elections in Uttar Pradesh. 2 lakh 23 thousand 309 Police Home Guards, 35 Company CAPF and 84 Company PAC and 2 Platoon PAC were deployed. 27430 ballot boxes, 32510 control units, 38600 BUs were used.

There are a total of 4 crore 32 lakh 39 thousand 647 voters in 760 urban body areas of the state. Of these, 2 crore 29 lakh 87 thousand 955 are male and 2 crore 2 lakh 51 thousand 692 are female voters. There are 43244 polling places and 13746 polling stations. The number of Vulnerable Plus Center is 4891. The number of counting centers was 353.
