The Education Department has decided to set up free boys hostels for needy and economically weak children in seven districts of Bihar. This hostel will be prepared on the lines of Kasturba Gandhi Residential School. Hostels will be constructed in the name of Subhash Chandra Bose in seven districts of the state. In these, free boys hostels will be prepared in Patna, Muzaffarpur, Jamui, Nawada, Gaya, Banka and Aurangabad.

Children of 6 to 18 years will get the facility of living

Hostel is to be constructed for needy children at a cost of about one crore rupees. Children in the age group of 6 to 18 years will get the facility to stay in the hostel. In each hostel, there will be free arrangements for living, eating and studying for 100 children. A search is on for a place to set up hostels at two places in Patna. Presently, as an alternative arrangement, it has been decided to open this hostel in Hanumant Sharan High School Mainpura, Patna and TK Ghosh Academy in Patna. Will be kept under alternative arrangement from the month of July. After the construction of permanent hostel, the children living here will be shifted to the new building. Children living in these hostels should be enrolled in any government schools. Apart from this, the needy children whose education has not been arranged or are financially weak, then such children can also stay here and study.

Teachers will be there for 24 hours to look after the children

Teachers and personnel will be present 24 hours to take care of the children living in the boys hostel and to teach them. This includes three part-time teachers. Along with this, other facilities including common room, TV, sports material, toilet, drinking water RO will also be provided to the children in the hostel.

DPO Shyam Nandan told that boys hostel will be prepared for needy and economically weak children. Presently, under the alternative arrangement, children will be kept at two places in the city. After the permanent building is prepared, the children will be shifted there. Hostels will be constructed in the schools where there is sufficient land.
