Madhya Pradesh: Five people died in two separate incidents in Jabalpur and Harda districts of Madhya Pradesh. Among the dead, a total of five people, including the son of a BJP leader and three teenagers, died due to drowning. Police officers gave this information. Harda’s Sub-Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) Archana Sharma said that this afternoon three teenagers died of drowning while taking a bath in the Ajnal river adjacent to Harda.

Three people drowned while taking a bath: Police said that the deceased have been identified as Sonu Baghel, Tilak Chaure and Mohit Bamne. He told that their age is between 14 and 15 years and all three were residents of Hiwala village of nearby Chhipabad police station area. The officer said that after receiving information about the drowning, the police reached the spot and the bodies were taken out from the river and handed over to their relatives.

Died due to drowning while taking a bath: On the other hand, according to the report received from Jabalpur, Atul Patel and Anurag Lodhi, who went to bathe in Tilwara Ghat of Narmada river in Bargi area, also died due to drowning today. City Superintendent of Police of Bargi area Ankita Khaterkar told that Atul was the only son of former district rural president of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Shiv Patel. He had gone with his family friends to bathe in Tilwara Ghat of Narmada river. All were taking bath in Dadda Ghat.

Death by going in a strong current: Police told that during this time Anurag Lodhi went in a strong current, to save whom Atul Thakur also went in a strong current and both drowned. Khaterkar told that on receiving the information, the police immediately launched a rescue operation. A team of divers from the local and rescue team pulled both of them out of the river, but by then both had died. He said that the police have registered a case and sent both the bodies for postmortem.
