The politics of Karnataka has taken a new turn, now a new government has to be formed here, but the questions are still the same.Who will become the Chief Minister in Karnataka, Amidst all this, Congress leader Siddaramaiah and other newly elected legislators reached the residence of the party’s national president Mallikarjun Kharge, where they held talks in view of the meeting to be held today. On the other hand, DK Shivakumar has not met Kharge till now, he has gone to a monastery with his family.

Possibility of having many Deputy Chief Ministers

Among those who met Kharge were Maharashtra Congress in-charge H.K. Patil said that whatever our high-command says, he will be the Chief Minister. I don’t know, but the news coming through the media is showing that there is a possibility of many Deputy Chief Ministers. Mallikarjun Kharge is one who makes CM and not one who becomes CM

Congratulations poured in

He said, ‘Kharge ji took our party to the figure of 135, so we all congratulated him together and he congratulated us. There has been no discussion in any way regarding the post of our Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister.

Challenge to stop factionalism in front of Congress

At the same time, the meeting of the Congress Legislature Party is likely to start at 5.30 pm on Sunday and the newly elected MLAs have already been instructed to come to Bengaluru. Eight-time MLA Shivakumar and former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah have publicly expressed their desire to become the Chief Minister. The Congress had entered the election campaign specifically with the challenge of keeping factionalism between the Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar camps at bay. Now the All India Congress Committee (AICC) has the task of completing the process of electing the leader of the Legislature Party by taking all the factions together.

Election of CM can also be done on the basis of voting.

Supporters put up banners at the residences of Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar congratulating them on the Congress victory and describing them as the “next chief minister”. Shivakumar (60) is considered a “troubleshooter” for the party while Siddaramaiah has influence across Karnataka. If Siddaramaiah, who joined the Congress after being suspended from the JD(S), is elected as the leader of the legislature party, it will be his second term as chief minister. He was the Chief Minister of the state from 2013-18. Shivkumar was a minister in his cabinet. According to party sources, opinion of the newly elected MLAs will be taken and on the basis of that they can also be asked to vote for their leader if needed.

With the resounding victory in Karnataka, Congress now rules in 7 states, know which are those states and what is the situation?
