Bihar Crime News: In the by-election to be held in the Naxal-affected Azimganj panchayat of Dharhara block of Munger, 65-year-old Jaleshwar Koda, a resident of Gauraiya, was taken to the forest and poisoned by the opponents on Friday night. He died during treatment at Munger Sadar Hospital. Where the police have started investigation regarding the murder of the candidate by drinking poison before the election. On the other hand, there is an atmosphere of panic among other chief candidates in the panchayat.
Called from Basa, taken to the forest, forcefully fed poison
It is told that Jaleshwar Koda, a resident of Gauraiya, was sleeping on his basa. Late Friday night some people reached his residence and took him to the nearby hill forest, where he was forced to drink poison. Due to this his health deteriorated completely and he somehow reached his residence. The family took him to Dharhara PHC, from where he was referred to Munger Sadar Hospital for better treatment. But a few hours later he died during treatment.

On reaching Sadar Hospital, Jaleshwar Koda said in his statement that his opponents forced him to drink water by putting powder in his mouth and beat him up. Pramod Koda, the son of the deceased told that someone had given poison to my father. Due to this his health deteriorated and we brought him to Sadar Hospital for treatment where he died.

SDPO Sadar Rajesh Kumar told that Jaleshwar Koda, a sparrow resident of Azimganj Panchayat, had nominated himself for the post of chief in the by-election to be held this time. Information was received on Saturday morning that he has been admitted to Sadar Hospital in critical condition, where he died during treatment. Only after the investigation report comes, it can be known whether his death was due to poisonous substance or due to some other reason.
