Later, the hospital authorities issued an order on May 3 informing girl students that 28 third-year girl students and eight first-year girl students would not be allowed to leave the hostel for a week.

The PGIMER issued a statement late on Thursday evening regarding “Restriction on exit of nursing girl students after evening classes due to non-attendance in Mann Ki Baat programme…”. It said that this was a bit ‘overreaction’ on the part of the nursing college authorities and ‘the displeasure of the PGIMER administration has already been conveyed to the concerned.

The 100th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ was a must listen

The statement issued by PGIMER said that therefore we humbly request that this issue should not be given any other meaning or blown up in the larger public interest. According to the order, the warden of the institute had recently told first and third year girl students that it was mandatory for them to listen to the 100th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program on April 30 in Lecture Theater-1. In the order, the students were also warned that if they do not participate in the program, their exit will be banned.

The order states that despite repeated reminders by the warden and the hostel coordinator, 36 girl students did not attend the programme.
