Anantnag, May 8 (Hindustan Times). A major rescue operation has been launched by the administration to rescue 20 families stranded along with their cattle at Margan Top under Kokernag area of ​​South Anantnag district amid inclement weather in Jammu and Kashmir.

In response to the distress call near Navkan Margan Top, a joint rescue operation has been launched by Revenue, Police, Army, CRPF, Medical, ASH, SRTC under overall supervision of SDM Kokernag and led by DC Anantnag, an official said.

The official said that it is estimated that there are around 10 to 20 families at the spot whose cattle are stuck there. Another team has reached the spot with JCB machinery to deal with any eventuality, the official said. We have also set up a temporary shelter at Gavran and a medical camp through the Army as a contingency measure.
