Police said nine passengers were rushed to nearby private and government hospitals. His treatment is going on. The condition of four of them is critical. Rescue operation is on. Tanur resident boat owner Nasir is absconding. A case of murder has been registered against him. The boat was not at all travel friendly. The fishing boat was converted and used for tourism.

The Kerala government has declared one day state mourning on this accident. Kerala minister V Abdurrahman has said that the accident happened around 7 pm. The sunken boat has been brought to the shore. The operation is on to find the remaining missing people.
