Family returning from daughter’s marriage in Jharkhand, victim of road accident, four including parents died

Gumla (Jharkhand), 03 May (Hindustan Times). The family returning from the marriage of their daughter fell victim to a road accident late on Tuesday night near Jarda village of Dumri police station area in Gumla district of Jharkhand. Four people including parents died in the accident while 29 others were injured. The injured have been admitted to Sadar Hospital.

According to the police, all the people were returning to Katari in a pick-up van after getting their daughter married from Sarangdih in Dumri. There were 55 people in the van. The pick-up van went uncontrolled and overturned three times near Jarda village. The dead are bride’s mother Biranti Devi (45), father Sunder Dayal (50), Ernis Kindo (62) and Savita Nagesia (47).

According to the information, Dumri had gone to Sarangadih village of Jari police station area to marry the girl from Katari village of police station area at around nine o’clock on Tuesday morning. After getting married, left from there at around 8:30 pm. Around ten o’clock near Jarda village, the driver of the pickup vehicle lost its balance and the vehicle fell into the pit. The car overturned about three times. In this, three people died on the spot while one died during treatment. The injured have suffered injuries on head, face, legs, hands.

Immediately after getting information about the incident, SHO Manish Kumar reached the spot along with Dalbal and brought all the injured in a bus to Dumri Hospital, where first aid was given to all the injured. Nine injured were referred to Gumla, from where the doctor referred three to Ranchi RIMS seeing the situation serious.

Expressing deep condolences to the injured in the accident, Deputy Commissioner Sushant Gaurav has given necessary instructions to Gumla Sadar Hospital for better treatment of the injured. Along with this, instructions have been given to give all the government benefits to the relatives of the deceased as per the rules as soon as possible.

Expressing grief over the accident, Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that he is pained by the news of the death of four people in a road accident at Dumri in Gumla. May God grant peace to the departed souls and give strength to the bereaved family to bear the loss. Also said that action is being taken to provide medical facilities to those injured in the accident.
