This day is to remember the contribution of the laborers, who have the ability to make any impossible task possible on the strength of their hard work. In the district, laborers built the famous Maheshwar fort, and then constructed the Dejla Deora dam, which supplies drinking water to Khargone city. The fruitful result of his hard work is still present in the veins of the residents of the city.
There are hundreds of such works around us, which are the result of laborers only. Whether it is the excellent school of the district headquarters, the bridge of Mortakka and Barwah or the new collector’s building, nothing is possible without the labor of the labourers. Thousands of laborers have shed their sweat in completing 67 Amrit Sarovars last year for the water structure. Today these nectar lakes have proved to be important for agriculture and animals.
Laborers got employment from MNREGA and people got environment and water protection
Public Relations Officer Pushpendra Vaskale said that today the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme is being implemented in the country. Through this, 71.22 lakh man-days of employment was provided to 2.48 lakh members of 1.34 lakh families in the district last year, in which about Rs 147.95 crore was paid into the accounts of the labourers. Under MNREGA scheme, 45 percent employment has been made available to women in the district. Around 30,769 works have been completed here. About 96 percent of laborers’ Aadhaar accounts have been linked to make 100 percent Aadhaar linked payment to MNREGA workers. Payment is being ensured by linking 100 percent Aadhaar in the next 1 month.
Important contribution of MNREGA in the development of agriculture
He told that MNREGA is basically a scheme to provide employment to unskilled laborers but it has played an important role in the agriculture sector. According to the provisions of the act in MNREGA scheme, 60 percent is done in agriculture and agriculture related sector. Against this, 88 percent agriculture and its related works have been done in the district. Farmers have been directly benefited through Kapildhara, Nandan Fruit Garden, Made Bandhan, Water Conservation Farm Pond Stop Dam Check Dam.
Important contribution of MNREGA in environmental protection
According to the provision of MNREGA Act, natural resource management is to be done in 65 percent in Natural Resource Management. Last year in the district about 74 percent has been done. Water conservation work is being done on a large scale for environmental development. Apart from about 151 Amrit Sarovars in the district, the work of construction of about 7000 other water conservation structures is nearing completion. Along with this, plantation is being done every year in the district in which Nandan Fruit Garden Miyawaki and community tree plantation are in role. Apart from providing employment to laborers, MNREGA is playing an important role in environmental development and agriculture sector. Along with this, for the improvement of traffic in rural areas, 400 roads have been constructed, more than 200 bridges and culverts have been constructed through MNREGA scheme.
Contribution of laborers a lot in rural development
District Panchayat CEO Jyoti Sharma said on Labor Day that a lot has been contributed by the laborers in rural development in the district. Presently 221 wages are being provided to MNREGA workers. This year special emphasis is being laid on water conservation and rural cleanliness in the district. Under MNREGA, 100 percent payment will be arranged to the laborers on time.
