Indian girls beat Myanmar 2-1 to qualify for AFC U-17 Asian Cup qualifiers round 2

Bishkek, 29 April (Hindustan). The India U-17 women’s team registered a 2-1 victory over Myanmar in the first round finale of the AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers here on Friday. With this win, India qualified from Group F for the second round of the tournament to be held in September later this year.

In the three-team group, India won both their matches against Kyrgyz Republic and Myanmar to end their campaign with six points. Coming to the match against Myanmar, India took a 2-0 lead in the 33rd minute thanks to goals from Sulanjana and Pooja. Myanmar opened the account in the 75th minute thanks to Ya Min Phu’s goal and the score became 2-1. The final 15 minutes were tense as Myanmar pressed hard for the equaliser, but the Indian defenders came to the rescue to hand the team a 2-1 victory.
