18 kg gold seized at Mumbai airport, nine foreign women arrested

Mumbai, 29 April (Hindustan). The Customs Department (DRI) has seized 18 kg of gold at the Mumbai airport. Nine foreign women have been arrested in this connection. The value of the recovered gold in the international market has been estimated at Rs 10 crore.

The DRI had received information about the arrival of these women along with the gold by a Kenya Airways flight. Their luggage was searched as soon as they reached Mumbai airport. The search yielded 18 kg of gold. The women have been identified as Ardo Noor, Shukri Farah, Kero Jama, Habiba Umar, Ebla Abdulahi, Anab Muhammad, Anisa Mubarak, Isnina Yusuf, Zainab Mehmood. All the accused are related to the business of selling cloth. Their age is between 26 to 47 years.

It is worth mentioning that last week, DRI arrested 18 foreign women after recovering gold worth Rs 10 crore at Mumbai airport.
