Punjab Police claims- Amritpal did not surrender, he was arrested

Chandigarh, 23 April (Hindustan Times). Punjab Police has claimed that Khalistan supporter Amritpal Singh has not surrendered but has been arrested. Punjab Police IG Headquarters Sukhchain Singh said that Amritpal was surrounded from all sides. He was arrested amid tight police cordon.

IG Headquarters Sukhchain Singh told reporters on Sunday that the police took care of the dignity of Gurdwara Sahib. Due to the blockade from all sides, Amritpal could not find any way to escape and the police arrested him. He has been arrested and sent to Dibrugarh Jail in Assam.

He said that action has been taken against Amritpal under NSA. The police had surrounded the village road from all sides. The police did not want to promote any kind of controversy by going to the Guru’s house. He was caught from Village Rode at 6:45 am on Sunday. Punjab Police and Intelligence had concrete information about Amritpal’s presence in village Rode.
