In the next 25 years of Amritkal, not degree, only skill and capability are important: Dharmendra Pradhan

Bhubaneswar, 23 April (Hindustan). Union Minister for Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated an exhibition on Future Work ahead of the third meeting of the G-20 Working Group on Education at the IMMT campus in Bhubaneswar on Sunday.

On this occasion, Union Minister Pradhan said that since ancient times, the role of skill has been very important in the tradition of Odisha. Keeping in mind the changes taking place in the world, it is necessary to develop our skills. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a vision to prepare our youth as employers for future work. He said that by the year 2047, India will have 25 percent of the world’s youth. In the next 25 years, skill and capability will be important, not degree. That’s why the youth have to be prepared keeping in mind the nature of work in the coming days. Pradhan expressed the hope that the meeting of the G-20 Education Working Group would be especially helpful in this direction.

He said that India has the chairmanship of G-20 under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi. According to its theme, India has always been a country wishing for world welfare. Pradhan said that the 21st century would be the era of knowledge based and technology. India has a wealth of knowledge as well as creative human resources and a strong market. Through them, India will become a partner of comprehensive change in this century.

Pradhan said that we need to skill, reskill and upskill. Vaccination through Covin, UPI payment, etc. demonstrate the unprecedented digital potential of India. The National Education Policy made under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not just a document, but a roadmap for world welfare.

He described the participation of the people of Odisha in G-20 as enthusiastic. He said that the participation of more than one lakh youth of Odisha in various programs related to G-20 is commendable. Individuals and students of various universities including IIT Bhubaneswar, NIT Rourkela, IIM Sambalpur, Eijer, Niger participated in this program in the field of skill development.
