New Delhi, 22 April (Hindustan). The terrorist attack on an army truck in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district was part of a conspiracy to cancel the G-20 summit meetings to be held in Leh this month and in Srinagar next month. Investigation by intelligence agencies has revealed that the terrorists fired about 36 rounds at the truck and used sticky bombs for the attack. 2000 commandos have been engaged in the search operation to find the 7 terrorists who carried out the attack. In the operation being carried out through drones and helicopters, the army has given orders for ‘shoot at site’.
In fact, the Indian Army’s unit Rashtriya Rifles has been running ‘Operation All Out’ for the past few years to eliminate terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. That is why the soldiers of this unit are always on the target of terrorists. The terrorist attack on 20 April also took place on Rashtriya Rifles personnel, in which Havildar Mandeep Singh, Lance Naik Debasish Baswal, Lance Naik Kulwant Singh, Sepoy Harkrishna Singh and Sepoy Sevak Singh were martyred. Intelligence agencies involved in the investigation have revealed that the terrorists have carried out the attack on the lines of the ‘Katra Bus Attack’ in May 2022.
In this report shared with the Ministry of Home Affairs and the NIA, it was told that the terrorists fired about 36 rounds of steel bullets on the truck and also used sticky bombs in the attack. Forensic team and NIA have taken all the samples from the spot. The investigation team has recovered 2 grenade pins and kerosene vapors from the truck. It has been told in the report that this terrorist attack was carried out by seven terrorists, out of which three are foreigners. Army has received inputs that all the seven terrorists are hiding in the jungles around the spot, hence an intensive search operation has been launched here.
According to the army, drones and helicopters have also been deployed in this search operation and the terrorists have been ordered to ‘shoot at site’. To avenge the attack, the army along with the state police has started its operation, in which around 2000 commandos have been deployed. The investigation has also revealed that it is being described as a planned attack ahead of the G-20 summit in Jammu and Kashmir. The attack was carried out at a time when India is presiding over the G-20 summit this year. Under this, a meeting is to be held in Leh from 26 to 28 April and in Srinagar from 22 to 24 May.
During January-February this year, the Jammu and Kashmir Police had issued an advisory to the army units, in which there was a possibility of increasing infiltration from the border in view of the G-20 Summit to be held in Kashmir. Announcements to encourage the Jihad Brigade are being made on the loudspeakers of mosques in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) for a limited period regarding the G-20 summit to be held in Kashmir. The announcements said that the Jihad Brigade would be armed to disrupt the G-20 summit in Kashmir. Sources say that although the impact of this appeal is likely to be low, the possibility of motivating and pushing smaller groups cannot be ruled out.
