254 4G mobile towers dedicated to the nation in Arunachal

New Delhi, 22 April (Hindustan). As a joint effort of the Government of India and the Government of Arunachal Pradesh, 254 4G mobile towers were dedicated to the nation on Saturday. The towers have been constructed under the Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF).

Union Minister for Communications Ashwini Vaishnav, Union Minister for Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju, Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Pema Khandu, Union Minister of State for Communications Devsingh Chauhan and Arunachal Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein along with senior officers of the Central and State Governments were present on the occasion.

Union Minister Vaishnav said that despite practical difficulties, the establishment of these towers in difficult areas is an example of everyone’s efforts. Communication opens doors and opportunities for all. How difficult it was to provide benefits to the beneficiaries in other countries during the time of Covid. He tried to explain the challenges of the difficult terrain by citing the establishment of a tower at an altitude of 12,600 feet in Tawang.

According to the government, these towers will cover 336 villages and benefit thousands of residents of Arunachal Pradesh. Beneficiaries will be able to access high-speed network connectivity. This will ensure various digital services for socio-economic development in areas such as education, health, e-commerce and agriculture.

Under the Bharat Net scheme, more than 1,310 gram panchayats have been connected with optical fiber and more than 1,156 towers have been planned to bring about digital inclusion. 5G services have recently been launched in Itanagar and will be expanded to other areas.
