NIA starts investigation into terrorist attack on military vehicle, collects evidence from the spot

Poonch, 21 April (Hindustan Times). The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has started the probe into Thursday’s terrorist attack on a military vehicle in Sangyot area on the Jammu-Poonch highway. On Friday, the team visited the entire spot and collected evidence. Five soldiers have been martyred in this terrorist attack and another injured has been admitted to the hospital.

A massive search operation was launched today to nab the terrorists after five soldiers were killed in a terrorist attack in Sangyot area on the Rajouri-Poonch highway on Thursday. Help is also being taken from drones in search of terrorists. High officials of the army and police are also present in the ongoing operations in the areas around the incident site. On the second day of the attack today, the NIA team reached the spot and investigated the spot.

The army has deployed drones and sniffer dogs to trace the attackers. Army and security agencies have received information about the presence of 6-7 terrorists operating in two groups near the area in Rajouri-Poonch sector where the incident took place yesterday. The Indian Army has launched several special forces teams with drones and surveillance helicopters, which are conducting search operations in the suspected area.

Sources said security forces including the army, police and intelligence agencies are coordinating the operation. The terrorists are suspected to be of Lashkar and of Pakistan. More details about the route of their entry into the area are being ascertained. Extensive exploration is being done in the area where many cave-type natural formations are present.
