Qatar Islamic Bank (Al Masraf) was launched in cooperation with Qatar Charity and the Qatar Society for the Rehabilitation of People with Special Needs to support the local community during the holy month of Ramadan.
Inspired by the spirit of the holy month, the bank continues to spread positive impact, as it sponsors the “Iftar for a Fasting” project in cooperation with Qatar Charity as part of the “Ramadan Impact” campaign. The campaign, which was organized in Al Rayyan tent, targets labor and community gatherings, by providing daily Iftar meals for up to 400 fasting people, which will reach a total of 12,000 people by the end of Ramadan.
About 400 people gather daily to have breakfast at Al Rayyan table, most of whom are workers who live in the surrounding areas. The Iftar program organized by Qatar Charity includes delivering a religious sermon in Asian languages to the attendees, most of whom are from Asian communities. Sheikh Mashhad Rahman delivers this sermon on an almost daily basis in both Urdu and Bengali, and deals with the virtues of Ramadan, fasting and recitation of the Qur’an.
Mrs. Mashael Abdulaziz Al-Derham, Assistant General Manager for Communication and Quality Assurance Sectors, emphasized the bank’s commitment to supporting charitable initiatives that are in line with its ethics and philosophy of making a positive impact on the life of society. The Bank has demonstrated once again its firm commitment to social responsibility, and our continuous efforts to give back to the community by providing continuous support.
Mrs. Mashael said: “We feel proud to contribute to the support of our local community, which reflects the bank’s commitment to Islamic values and Qatari traditions of solidarity. As a leading Islamic bank, it is our responsibility to support the various segments of society, and the task of consolidating the values and spirit of the holy month with generosity, benevolence and charitable works. These charitable initiatives confirm our commitment to supporting the local community.”
Commenting on the sponsorship, Mr. Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al-Hajri, Director of Programs and Community Development at Qatar Charity, said: “We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Qatar Islamic Bank for its generous sponsorship of our campaign, which aims to feed thousands of people throughout the month of Ramadan.
