The H-1B visa is an immigrant visa that allows US companies to bring foreign technical experts to work in the US. During the discussion in the US Parliament on the budget demand of Homeland Security in the fiscal year 2024, Indian-American MP Thanedar has demanded to increase the number of H-1B visas. Along with this, he has also demanded to increase the legal route for immigration.

Appealing to US Homeland Security Minister Alejandro Mayorkas, he said that the US needs to expand legal routes for immigration. Also there is a need to increase the number of H-1B visas. Thanedar said that due to the failure of the immigration system, the challenges on the borders of America are increasing. He said that it is very important to secure the borders for the security of the country.

It is noteworthy that H-1B visa is the most sought after by Indian professionals. In such a situation, if the number of H-1B visas is increased considering the demand of the American MP, then Indians can get its benefit.
