India said in the United Nations, India increased the participation of African countries in G-20

New York, 20 April (Hindustan Times). India informed the United Nations that India has increased the participation of African countries in the G-20 group under its leadership. At the same time, India has raised the voice of the developing countries vociferously.

India is leading the G-20, a group of countries with twenty largest economies of the world, this year. India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ruchira Kamboj said that India’s G-20 presidency has seen the highest participation from African countries so far. During the G-20 conference in India, South Africa, Mauritius, Egypt, Nigeria, African Union member countries, African Union Development Agency etc. have participated.

Ruchira Kamboj said that during the presidency of the G-20, India has vocally raised the voice of the global south and developing countries. The Global South Summit was held in January 2023, which was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. That conference was attended by representatives of 125 countries, including 18 heads of state and other ministerial-level officials.

Giving information to the United Nations, Kamboj said that events are being organized continuously in India according to the concepts of G-20. Recently, the 100th G-20 event was held under the chairmanship of India on 17th April. G-20 member countries along with the chief agricultural scientists of the invited countries participated in this program organized in Varanasi. He said that through the events related to G-20, India wants to develop such an understanding, considering the concept of one earth, one family and one future, by which global challenges can be tackled.
