Pyongyang, April 13 (HS). Amid ongoing tensions with the US and South Korea, North Korea has once again fired a ballistic missile. After issuing an alert, Japan has evacuated the island of Hokkaido.

The South Korean military claimed that North Korea fired a missile towards the Sea of Japan as a provocation. North Korea has claimed that these weapons are capable of causing radioactive tsunami. Japan has also confirmed the release of the missile by North Korea. Along with this, the Japanese government has issued an alert and evacuated the island of Hokkaido. The Japanese government has asked residents of the island to evacuate immediately and take shelter in buildings or underground shelters. The Japanese government issued a warning saying the missile was expected to land at around 8 a.m. local time. However, local officials in Hokkaido later said there was no chance the missile would hit the island.

It is noteworthy that North Korea has been testing weapons continuously since the beginning of this year. In the past, North Korea has tested a nuclear-capable underwater drone and two intercontinental ballistic missiles.
