In Tripura, BJP has once again formed the government with absolute majority by winning 32 seats. Now in Tripura, the discussion about whom the BJP will bring in front for the post of CM is intensifying. There is a buzz in the corridors that Tripura may get a woman Chief Minister this time.

Though BJP had projected Manik Saha as the CM face before the elections, now there are reports that other names are being discussed for the post of CM.

The Indian Express quoted sources in the party as saying that the name of Union Minister of State for Empowerment and Social Justice Pratima Bhowmik is currently being considered for the post of Chief Minister.

However, no final decision has been taken regarding this as the BJP has won the state under the leadership of Manik Saha. On the other hand, if Pratima Bhowmik is appointed, she will be the first woman Chief Minister in the history of the Northeast.

When asked about the possibility of Bhowmik being made the CM, a senior leader said, “It cannot be ruled out. If he is made the CM, then Manik Saha can be given a place in the central government.”

Please inform that Pratima Bhowmik comes from a farming family of Dhanpur village. His village is close to the India-Bangladesh border.
