The Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme has the potential to generate employment. A report by TeamLease Services states that 60 percent of the employers surveyed said they would make new hires in the next 2 years.
The report states that 71 per cent of employers in small and medium-sized organizations said that hiring would increase due to the PLI scheme. On the other hand, in large organizations, only 22 percent say that recruitment will increase in the coming days.
Indore (86 per cent), Chennai (73 per cent) and Pune and Gurugram (65 per cent) are prominent among companies willing to increase recruitment in small and medium scale industries.
Nearly three-fourths of the companies that have expressed the expectation of an increase in recruitment believe that there will be a 20 percent increase in employment.
