The Delhi High Court on Friday directed the Center and the Delhi government to look into DMRC’s request to extend a guarantee or loan to Reliance Infrastructure-promoted Delhi Airport Metro Express Pvt Ltd (DAMEPL) to pay dues under a 2017 arbitration award. .

The High Court said that this decision has to be taken by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and the Delhi Government within two weeks and if the decision comes in accordance with the Delhi Metro Railway Corporation (DMRC), it will deposit the entire amount with interest within a month. .

Justice Yashwant Verma, reading out the judgement, said, “If the central ministry or the Delhi government rejects the request for guarantee or loan, the central ministry shall return all money received from DMRC after March 10, 2022, immediately or at the end of two weeks.” Will give

This decision of the High Court has come on the petition filed by DAMEPL against DMRC. In this, an appeal was made for payment of dues as per the arbitration award in his favor. An arbitration tribunal awarded in favor of DAMEPL in May 2017. DAMEPL had withdrawn from operation of the Airport Express metro line due to security issues.
