Delhi’s Finance Minister presented a budget of Rs 78,800 crore for 2023-24


Delhi Finance Minister Kailash Gehlot presented the Rs 78,800 crore state budget for the financial year 2023-24 in the assembly on Wednesday. The size of the state budget for 2022-23 was Rs 75,800 crore and Rs 69,000 crore in the previous fiscal.

After the resignation of Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Gehlot got the responsibility of the Finance Department. In his budget speech, he said, “I would have been more happy if Manish Sisodia presented the budget, he is like my elder brother. This budget is an expression of the aspirations and expectations of the people.

This is the ninth consecutive budget of the Aam Aadmi Party government. Describing it as a budget dedicated to a clean, beautiful and modern Delhi, Gehlot said, “All possible help will be given to the MCD to remove three mountains of garbage in Delhi.” All colonies will be connected with sewage and the capacity of sewage treatment plants will be increased to clean Yamuna river.
