The United States continues to consider Russia and China the main cyber threats

March 4 – BLiTZ. The United States has published the National Cybersecurity Strategy, which develops the ideas of a similar document adopted in 2018 under Donald Trump.

While the Biden administration is proposing some fresh new approaches to combating cyberthreats for the US, the core of the strategy has remained the same. Still, the Americans continue to consider Russia, China, Iran and the DPRK, which are called “authoritarian states with revisionist intentions,” as their main rivals on the cyber front. According to the document, the United States is going to take an offensive approach in its activities and actively use business representatives in the work, and not just employees of state bodies, such as the US Department of Defense and the FBI. The main new idea in the adopted strategy is to create incentives for strengthening cybersecurity in the US itself, and not just conducting operations outside of it.

Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov, reacting to the adoption of this document, called it part of the hybrid war unleashed against Russia and stressed the groundlessness of the accusations against our country.
