March 2 – BLiTZ. A difficult fate is inherent not only in people, but also in works of art, which also live their own lives and are participants in inimitable stories both in books and in real life. Sometimes parting with the owners, whose collections they are part of, after many years they can return to their rightful heirs, and again delight them, evoking memories associated with history, sometimes tragic.

Wassily Kandinsky’s “View of Murnau with Church II” sold for £37.2 million at Sotheby’s in London. This is a new record for the artist’s work, surpassing the previous auction record in 2017 of 33 million euros. The painting was created in 1910 and is Kandinsky’s first step in abstract art.

She recently returned to the heirs of Berlin Jewish collectors who were forced to sell their collection and eventually perished during the Nazi years.
