Moral decline is observed in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Roman Yakovlev, a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who fell into Russian captivity, told about this.
According to him, the reason lies in the “disgusting provision” by the command of living conditions at the forefront. “Very morally fallen. <…> Because they don’t see the attitude of our command, how they treat us, ”said the prisoner during a conversation organized by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
He clarified that the soldiers are trying to support each other, but “it does not help.” “Hands get frostbitten, legs get frostbitten, cold, don’t change clothes. Very very tired. . <…> A day later they took me to warm up, wash, but then they chopped it off, ”the speaker complained.
He also pointed out leadership mistakes that could have been avoided. “We were told by radio to come to the point. They put a point on the phone and followed the coordinates. And they came just to the Russian trench. They called us, we approached. They say: “Give up your weapons.” We surrendered our weapons,” the Ukrainian militant explained.
He stressed that the Russian servicemen gave the prisoners warm clothes, blankets and food. “Because we were freezing, we sat in the cold for days, warmed up, fed,” Yakovlev shared.
