A shocking story unfolded in Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka city, where a young female endured unimaginable torment of brutal torture, gang rape and porn film making, while she was rescued by the law enforcement agencies from an apartment in city’s Mohammadpur area. The victim, aged twenty-three, revealed crucial information regarding her ordeal. Media reports indicate she suffered not only demonic rape but also endured gang rape, while perpetrators had filmed the entire incident and sold the content to porn sites abroad. Law enforcement agencies are still looking for the missing mobile phone of the victim as according to her, it contains several clips of porn videos made by the racket.
Police rescued the girl on March 30 but maintained secrecy regarding the matter to facilitate the apprehension of those involved. With the aid of information and technical assistance provided by Salma, also known as Jhumur, who was arrested at the scene, the remaining three perpetrators were captured two days later. According to the victim, Salma was maintaining an apartment, which was used by the culprits for making of porn.
According to sources familiar with the investigation, an individual named Barrister Masud lured the female with false promise of marriage and later he handed her over to Salma, At Salma;s apartment, the victims was gang raped for days, while Barrister Masud has filmed and sold those contents to several porn sites abroad.
HM Azimul Haque, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC) Tejgaon Division of DMP, briefed reporters on Monday, April 1, 2024. He stated that the victim girl found herself alone after her parents separated, subsequently marrying other individuals. She then resided in her elder sister’s home. During this time, she encountered a barrister named Masud through her sister-in-law. Building an acquaintance, the young woman began living together with Masud, who often resided abroad. Masud would allocate time for the young woman upon his visits to the country. Through Masud, the young woman was introduced to Salma, also known as Jhumur, the wife of an expatriate. Following Masud’s plan, the young woman moved into a rented flat in the Nabinagar housing area with Salma, with Masud covering the expenses.
Deputy Police Commissioner Azimul Haque further disclosed that Masud collaborated with several accomplices offering them cash through Jhumur, for gangraping the victim and filming the incidents. In some of these porn contents, Jhumur had also participated. Once videos were recorded, those were sent to Barrister Masud. A number of porn sites reportedly had purchased these clips from Masud.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Azim stated that on March 29, around 9 pm, the victim was rescued after a call was made to the National Emergency Service 999, reporting her restrained condition. That evening, the girl was administered sleeping pills. Salma, Sun, and others fled the premises while the victim was asleep. Upon awakening and finding herself alone, she screamed for help. Concerned passersby contacted 999 and informed the police. Subsequently, law enforcement personnel proceeded to the fourth floor of a multi-story building in Nabinagar and rescued the girl.
Currently, the young woman is undergoing treatment at the One Stop Crisis Center (OCC) of Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Initially, it was revealed that a majority of the videos and pictures depicting the victim’s torture were stored on Jhumur’s mobile phone.
