On March 1, 2024, RT Editor-in-Chief Margarita Simonyan released a Russian-language transcript of what was claimed to be a conversation between several high-ranking Luftwaffe officers, in which they discussed the operational and targeting details of Taurus long-range missiles – which Germany is currently debating whether to send to Ukraine – as though the delivery had already been agreed upon.
The officials also spoke about how to maintain plausible deniability if Ukraine used the weapons to strike the strategically important Crimean Bridge. The German Defense Ministry has confirmed that the conversation had indeed been intercepted, with an investigation into the matter underway.
RT in a report said, The Wall Street Journal, citing German officials said that the conversation is authentic, adding that the meeting took place on a non-encrypted online platform, WebEx, with one officer reportedly calling from a hotel room in Singapore. According to the article, German officials often use WebEx for sensitive conversations, with one WSJ source saying the leak should be “a wake-up call” for Berlin.
Apart from the use of Taurus missiles, German officials also allegedly mentioned the presence of foreign military personnel in Ukraine, deployed to help Kiev operate Western-supplied weapons. Russian officials have said that the presence of Western service members in Ukraine is “no secret”.
The Wall Street Journal described the recording as “a propaganda win for the Kremlin”, noting that it could strain relations between Germany and its NATO allies. It also makes the eventual delivery of Taurus missiles to Ukraine less likely, the paper added.
The German daily Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reported on March 3, 2024, citing sources, that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz remains opposed to sending Taurus missiles to Kiev, warning it could further escalate the conflict.
The leaked recording caused an uproar in Russia, which has condemned Western arms shipments to Ukraine, saying they only prolong the conflict and make NATO countries direct participants in the hostilities. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova demanded an explanation from Berlin over the leaked recording. Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said the Germans have “once again become our archenemies”.
As the German Defense Ministry has confirmed that the conversation had indeed been intercepted, there is no room to argue – Berlin certainly has agenda of bombing the Crimean Bridge in a similar pattern America’s Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has sabotaged the Nord Stream under secret instructions from Joe Biden and some of his key aides, including Antony Blinken and Victoria Nuland. Although such acts can be deemed as international terrorism and hydro-terrorism, there is no one to hold the United States and Germany as well as NATO responsible for such terrorist acts. This is a very unfortunate and scary situation prevailing in this world, where Western thugs are doing anything at whims targeting any nation in the Global South – be it Russia, China or even Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, according to German historian Tarik Cyril Amar, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz have disagreed publicly over how to support Ukraine – which has been ruthlessly deployed by the West as a geopolitical proxy – in its conflict with Russia. Macron used a special EU meeting he had convened, rumor has it directly inspired by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, to state, in effect, that sending Western combat troops into Ukraine was an option.
Tarik Cyril Amar further said:
Of course, the West already has troops on the ground, including those flimsily camouflaged as volunteers and mercenaries, or otherwise participating in the conflict (for instance by planning and targeting), as a recent leak of US documents has confirmed. But an open intervention by ground forces would be a severe escalation, directly putting Russia and NATO against each other, as Moscow has quickly pointed out, and making nuclear escalation a real possibility.
Russia has deliberately tolerated a certain degree of Western intervention, for its own pragmatic reasons: In essence, it seeks to win the war in Ukraine, while avoiding an open conflict with NATO. It is willing to pay the price of having to deal with some de facto Western military meddling, as long as it is confident it can defeat it on the Ukrainian battlefield. Indeed, the strategy has the added advantage that the West is bleeding its own resources, while the Russian military is receiving excellent hands-on training in how to neutralize Western hardware, including much-touted “miracle weapons”.
While RT Editor-in-Chief Margarita Simonyan’s bombshell revelation of German official’s conspiracy of bombing Crimean Bridge has already been admitted to be genuine by German authorities, Western nations have visibly become desperate in silencing every independent media that is publishing reports on this matter. For the “crime” of publishing a report giving details of the matter, the online edition of Blitz came under cruel cyberattack and hacking attempt on March 2, 2024 at around 4 pm Bangladesh time. Attackers deleted all the contents of the day – including the report on German conspiracy of bombing the Crimean Bridge. Few hours before this gruesome cyber terrorist attack, two contents containing my interview to RT International were removed by YouTube stating it violated its “community standard”. It may be mentioned here that the first video of my interview was uploaded on the YouTube channel of Blitz on June 20, 2023. Meaning, after almost eight months, suddenly YouTube realized, these two interviews had violated its “community standard” as in the first interview I discussed about importance of BRICS and how Global South can confront Western nation’s notoriety and in the second one, I gave my opinion on the death of Alexei Navalny.
It may be mentioned here that, for the past several months, there has been repeated attempts of silencing Blitz. In the first case, an NGO named NewsGuard tried to bully the newspaper for publishing neutral reports on Ukraine while in the second case, a Ukrainian individual named Dmytro Gerasymenko, who is running a mysterious organization named Ahrefs has been spreading false information on Blitz for not running propaganda against Russia.
These incidents clearly prove – how Western nations are resorting to totally rogue attitudes towards independent media – although those nations regularly try to lecture on the “importance of press freedom”. One may ask – why the Western nations are afraid of the Blitz. Response is simple. They are afraid of the influence and credibility this newspaper is enjoying for the past 21 years and because of its very large size of readership.
After sabotaging Nord Stream and lately conspiring to bomb the Crimean Bridge, the Western monsters may continue their evil attempts of silencing Blitz – they may even try to eliminate me in the same way they are trying on Julian Assange, but they should know – nothing can stop us as we are Phoenix that have learnt to grow from the ashes.
