Traffic SP Puran Jha himself was campaigning against those who break traffic rules on the roads of Patna on Friday. The SP said that this type of campaign will now run daily. For this, the process of installing 103 cameras in the surrounding areas is being started.

Investigation campaign on Dak Bungalow and Patna Junction Golambar

Under the leadership of Patna’s Traffic SP Puran Jha, a special investigation campaign was conducted at Dak Bungalow and Patna Junction Golambar on Friday. Traffic DSP-1 and Traffic DSP-2 were also present in this campaign. An e-challan of Rs 2 lakh 53 thousand was sent to 243 vehicles in one day from the CCTV camera installed at ICCC on Atal Path Golambar. At the same time, a fine of Rs 22.73 lakh was recovered from 1871 vehicles with the help of HHD machine and Smart City CCTV camera. Traffic SP said that a special checking campaign has been conducted at Traffic Post, Zero Mile, Jaganpura, Mithapur, Dak Bungalow, Patna Junction, GPO Below, Gola Road, Rukanpura, Ashiana Mod, Rajendra Nagar Bridge.

Protest started on strictness on traffic rules

Here, people are being issued e-challans several times in a single day for violating traffic rules in the capital Patna. These traffic rules and challans have now become a cause of trouble for bike-car drivers. In protest against these rules, a unique demonstration was organized by some youths at the city’s Bamboo Ghat. The protesters cremated their bike here. During this, the people demonstrating said that people are being challaned many times in a single day for the same rule violation, this is wrong. People are facing a lot of trouble due to this.

The protesting people said that the people of the city are troubled by this new traffic rule and e-challan. During this, social worker Krishna Kumar Kallu, who cremated his bike, said that such traffic rules are wrong and if the government does not withdraw this rule, he will commit suicide by jumping into the river Ganges with his bike. Let us tell you that cameras have been installed at many places in the city for traffic activities and those who violate traffic rules. Due to the presence of these cameras installed in the city, the number of times people pass through, their e-challan can be deducted.

Why are you protesting

On the other hand, there is no provision in the Motor Vehicle Act to exempt the e-challan from being deducted once again. Under the new rule, if a person breaks the traffic rules and passes through the road without a helmet and comes in the sight of the camera, then his challan of Rs 1000 will be deducted. On the other hand, if after a few minutes or hours, he is again seen violating the same rule in another camera, then he will be challaned again. This will happen as many times as you will come under camera. Protest has started in Patna regarding this.

Fines will be deducted for vehicles in and around Patna

Like Patna city, now online fine will be deducted for vehicles breaking rules in areas around Patna. For this, the process of installing 103 cameras in the surrounding areas is being started. Under this, Red Light Violation Detection System, Speed ​​Violation Detection System and ANPR cameras will be installed. After this, e-challan will be deducted for not following the rules on the roads and the message will be sent to the registered mobile number of the vehicle owner. On the other hand, if the fine amount is not paid for 90 days, the vehicle will be blacklisted. After this, there will be a ban on selling the vehicle, making pollution certificate, getting insurance.

190 cameras have been installed in Patna

It is noteworthy that smart city projects are going on in Patna, Biharsharif, Bhagalpur and Muzaffarpur in the state. Where the strictness has been increased on the drivers who do not follow the traffic rules. So far, more than 190 Red Light Violation Detection System, Speed ​​Violation Detection System and ANPR cameras have been installed in Patna under the Smart City Project. Now such arrangements will be made in the surrounding areas as well. According to the Transport Department, e-challans are specially being issued to drivers without helmet-seatbelt, over speeding, stop line violation, wrong side driving, triple riding, talking on mobile while driving and violating traffic signals.
