Munshi Premchand’s story Kafan staged in CUJ, artists showcased Moha Mana, Mini India in art and craft exhibition

Ranchi: Under the joint auspices of ‘Akhrawat’ and Hindi Sahitya Sabha in Hindi Department of Central University of Jharkhand, Munshi Premchand’s story ‘Kafan’ was dramatized by undergraduate and postgraduate students. The play was directed by Bhuvanesh Kumar Pradhan and the screenplay and dialogue writing work was done by Arun Kumar. Arun Kumar and Rudra Pratap were in the lead roles of Ghisu and Madhav while Neha Kerkatta was in the role of Budhiya.

The students staged Munshi Premchand’s story Kafan. Its actors enthralled the audience with their superb acting. Other artists included Shikha Khalkho, Nelan, Neha Kumari, Sintu Saxena, Roshan Kumar, Nayan Kumar, Ankit Kumar, Shaurya Suman, Rupesh Patel. In this programme, Head of Department of Hindi Ratnesh Vishwaksen, Assistant Professor Dr. Jagdish Saurabh and teachers, research scholars and a large number of students from different departments of the university were present.

Art and Craft Exhibition at Faculty of Education, Central University of Jharkhand

A grand art and craft exhibition was organized by the students of B.Ed II Semester studying in Faculty of Education, Chedi Manatu, permanent campus of Central University of Jharkhand. The main attraction of this exhibition was wall paintings, decorative art, ikebana, clay modelling, puppet dance, book cover, CD cover, computer graphics design, model making, rangoli, music, poetry and scrap book making based on various forms of art-culture of different states of India. The main purpose of this type of exhibition is to understand the educational implications of art and drama and to make the teaching-learning process interesting among the students.

Art and craft exhibition should be organized regularly

Vice-Chancellor of CUJ, Prof. Kshiti Bhushan Das, described the art and craft exhibition as a major part in showcasing the uniformity of Indian cultural and social diversity and encouraged such programs to be organized extensively in the university.

Dean of Faculty Prof. Tapan Kumar Basantia, Head of Department Dr. Shashi Singh, Finance Officer Dr. Vimal Kishore, Assistant Professor Dr. Vijay Kumar Yadav, Dr. Manohar Kumar Das, Dr. Ramakrishna Reddy, Dr. Shilpi Raj, Angel Nag, Sumanta Haldar, all students and members of other faculties and non-academic staff were also present in organizing this exhibition.
