Jharkhand: Fodder scam hearing lasted for 27 years, verdict will come on August 28, 62 accused have died

Ranchi: In another major case (RC-48A/96) related to the 27-year-old fodder scam, the arguments from both the sides were completed in the court of Special CBI Judge Vishal Srivastava. After completion of the hearing, the court has reserved the verdict. The court will give its verdict in the case on August 28.

Statements of 616 witnesses have been recorded

CBI’s Special Public Prosecutor Ravi Shankar has recorded the statement of a total of 616 witnesses in this case. This case is related to illegal withdrawal of government amount of about 36 crores on the basis of fake allotment letter from Doranda treasury during the period 1990 to 1995.

Case was registered against 192 accused

In this case, 125 accused, including the then supplier and former MLA Gulshan Lal Azmani, are currently facing trial. 62 accused have died during the trial. The CBI had registered a case against a total of 192 accused in the case.
