Johannesburg, 21 July (HS). There was panic in Johannesburg, South Africa due to the loud explosion inside the ground. The road exploded and the vehicles running on the road were blown away.
Normal traffic was going on in the B Street area of Johannesburg, when suddenly a strong explosion caused the road to explode and the vehicles running on the road were thrown into the air. In the strong explosion inside the ground, the road was completely destroyed and there was a crater. One person has died and 48 people have been injured in this accident. Many vehicles have been badly damaged in the accident. The video of the incident has surfaced on social media, which is becoming very viral.
The exact cause of the blast is yet to be ascertained, but officials believe that it may have been caused by damage to a gas pipeline going underground. At present the investigation of the incident is going on. The local gas supplier admitted that there was a small leak in a gas pipeline, but the supplier refused to accept the leak as the cause of the blast. After the accident, the administration has advised people to avoid going to the affected area. The power supply to the affected area has also been stopped and the area is being cordoned off and investigated.
