Heavy rains affect life in Saurashtra, Chief Minister conducts aerial inspection

Ahmedabad, 21 July (Hindustan). Due to the bang of the third round of monsoon in the state, there has been a flood-like situation in many districts. People have suffered huge losses due to water logging in fields and houses. Junagadh, Gir Somnath, Dwarka and other districts have been submerged due to incessant rains for the last two days. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel took stock of the situation in the flood-affected areas by conducting an aerial inspection on Friday.

In Saurashtra, especially in Gir Somnath, Dwarka and Junagadh districts, it is raining incessantly. The Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rain in the coming days as well. Heavy rains have turned many villages in three districts of Saurashtra into islands. Heavy rains have had more impact in three districts of Saurashtra, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Junagadh and Somnath. Many villages have become without connectivity. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel conducted an aerial inspection regarding the situation arising out of the rains. He did an aerial inspection of Ishwariya of Veraval, Somnath, Ghed-Bagsara, Junagadh, Antarpur, Rajkot. During this, Chief Secretary Rajkumar and other officers were present.

According to Manorama Mohanty, director of the Meteorological Department, due to the activation of the monsoon trough, the state is receiving heavy rains. After three days, due to the reduction of this effect, the intensity of rain will also reduce. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert in Dwarka regarding heavy rains. Apart from this, heavy rain is expected in Navsari, Dang of South Gujarat. It will rain in Kutch, Junagadh, Somnath, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar and Porbandar of Saurashtra.

Rescue of workers in Dwarka

A godown on Charkala Road gets waterlogged following heavy rains in Dwarka. Due to this many workers working there got trapped. On getting the information, the police team reached there and the workers were taken out with the help of rope. This work of the police administration is being appreciated everywhere.
