MP Election 2023: Assembly elections are to be held in Madhya Pradesh by the end of this year. Before this, the Congress is completely active in the state. Party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Friday addressed a rally in Jyotiraditya Scindia’s home constituency Gwalior in view of the assembly elections to be held in Madhya Pradesh later this year. In this rally, he selectively attacked the BJP and said that there is a widespread wave of change in the state. Let us tell you that last time former Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia sought votes for Congress in this area and the performance of the party here was very good.

Addressing a rally in Gwalior, the home constituency of Union Minister and former Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia, Priyanka Gandhi targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that terrible atrocities took place in Manipur. Our Prime Minister did not make any statement for 77 days, did not say a single word… After the release of a shameful video, he had to speak a few words yesterday under compulsion. Politics was also mixed in this and the names of those states were taken where the government of the opposition is at present.

Election campaign started from Jabalpur

Let us discuss here that this is Priyanka’s second visit to Madhya Pradesh in the last 40 days. Assembly elections are to be held in the state at the end of this year, for which the party has geared up and is not leaving any chance to attack the ruling BJP. Earlier, Priyanka had addressed a rally in Jabalpur on June 12 and launched her party’s election campaign in the state. He had said in Jabalpur that if the Congress comes to power in the state, it will implement five schemes, including financial assistance of Rs 1,500 per month to women. Apart from this, Congress will also restore 100 units of free electricity and old pension scheme for employees if it comes to power.

Congress focus on Gwalior and Chambal division

Congress is the oldest party of the country and it wants to regain its old stronghold this time… Be it Lok Sabha elections or assembly elections, Congress is going among the public and is concentrating on strengthening the hold of the party. Meanwhile, today we talk about Madhya Pradesh assembly elections. Especially in Gwalior and Chambal division where Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi’s rally has been held. Jyotiraditya Scindia spoiled the game of the party in this area.

Let us tell you that the Scindia dynasty once ruled the then princely state of Gwalior, so it is bound to have an impact on the people of this family. Here the Scindia family’s impression has also been on the party. However, the Scindia family, which was seen together in the 2018 elections, is no longer with the Congress. In such a situation, there is a challenge before the Congress to stand firmly in the same position. This is the reason why party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi reached here.

Congress did well in Gwalior-Chambal

Let us tell you the special reason for keeping the focus of Congress in Gwalior-Chambal. In fact, whether the Congress got the 2018 assembly elections or the 2020 by-elections or the municipal and panchayat elections, the Congress got tremendous public support in all these formats. If we look at the 2018 elections, the Congress won 26 out of the total 34 seats in 8 districts of Gwalior-Chambal. On the other hand, BJP got 7 seats and BSP got one seat in the last election. Of the 13 seats in the three districts of Chambal division alone, 10 were won by the Congress. After this victory, the Congress came to power in the state.

Congress aims to win more seats in Gwalior-Chambal region

In the 2020 by-elections too, the Congress showed its full strength. By-elections were held on 16 seats in the Gwalior-Chambal region, in which seven seats were won by the Congress. To repeat the results of 2018 and to stop Scindia, the Congress increased the stature of Govind Singh. Govind is said to be from the camp of former Madhya Pradesh CM Digvijay.

MP Election 2023: Will Jyotiraditya Scindia harm Congress? Digvijay Singh’s brother said this

Congress did a great performance in this area in the 2022 municipal elections. Gwalior- While performing tremendously in Chambal, the Congress destroyed the strong fort of the ruling BJP. The special thing is that despite the absence of any major Congress leader in Gwalior, the party performed well and got success in making its mayor. The credit for Gwalior’s victory is given to MLA Satish Sikarwar, whose wife Shobha Sikarwar holds the post of mayor. After 57 years in Gwalior, in the Municipal Corporation elections, the Congress made a tremendous performance in the stronghold of BJP.

Scindia had rebelled against the Congress

If you remember, the MLAs who were angry with the Congress government had resigned en masse under the leadership of Jyotiraditya Scindia. After this the Kamal Nath government had fallen. These included 9 MLAs from Gwalior division. These MLAs had left the Congress and joined the BJP. When the MLAs resigned, the 28 seats on which by-elections were held in November 2020.
